History & How It Began

N64

Prior to December 2020, I hadn't played a single console ever. The only video games I ever played were on mobile and PC. That all changed when I noticed that my mother was playing a lot on her Nintendo 64, particularly a game called "Mario Party". Since I had nothing better to do at the time, I decided to sit down and watch her and her boyfriend play the game for a while. That entire time, I was laughing like you've never seen someone laugh before. Rest assured, I wanted to try it after that game was over. And just as I expected, it was amazing. We eventually got Mario Party 2 and Mario Party 3 as well and they were just as fun.

Wii

In February of 2021, I bought my own GameCube though I didn't have any games to play until my birthday arrived and I got Mario Party 4. However, only a few days after I got the game, the GameCube suddenly stopped reading discs. Since the GameCube was still in warranty, we decided to just turn it back in and we got a Wii instead on March 17th, 2021 because it had backwards compatibility with the GameCube games I had. However, the Mario Party 4 disc disappeared, likely because it was still in the GameCube's disc slot. I liked the Wii quite a lot and I ended up homebrewing it on April 14th.

3DS, Wii U, Nintendo Switch and DSi

During the summer of 2021, I became interested in a game called Tomodachi Life after seeing several videos about it on YouTube. With encouragement from my friend, I bought a 3DS XL on October 4th, 2021. Just like the Wii, I loved it. I got Tomodachi Life 6 days later and it quickly became not only my favorite game of all time, but also my most played game on the 3DS and any Nintendo console for that matter. I got a Wii U for Christmas that same year, then a Nintendo Switch OLED for my birthday, and then a special edition DSi.

Favorites

My favorite Nintendo consoles are definitely the Wii U and the 3DS, though I'm not entirely sure which one is better, I usually just say the 3DS because of the library of games, the portability, and StreetPass. The Wii U is still amazing though, wish I got to experience it with Miiverse. Just for fun, I should list off my favorite game from each console.

Side note, for most of 2022 I was obsessed with the Mario universe character Boo. I even created my own Boo OC which ended up becoming my profile picture across pretty much all websites that year.

Side note^2, I don't really know when this obsession/interest ended. I'm quite sure it has ended, but I'm not sure when. Could be 2025, could be 2023 or anywhere inbetween. Nevertheless, it's probably not ongoing. That's why the end date at the top of the page is "???".
